App Designer: the QRSong! app in your own style
For years the cards were the only part of QRSong! you could make your own. Your photos on the front, your logo, your colours. Then everybody opened the same teal app to scan them.
That always felt like a missed step, especially at birthday parties and company events, where the app is the thing people hold in their hands all evening. So we built App Designer.
What it does
App Designer changes the look of the free QRSong! app for your cards: the background (a colour, a gradient or your own photo), the text and accent colours, the font, your logo, the animations and even the help text that explains the game.
Your guests do not install anything new. They use the same free QRSong! app for iPhone and Android, and as soon as they scan the first card of one of your playlists, the app switches to your design. Scan a card from another set and it shows that set's look instead.
How it works
- Log in to My Account with the account you ordered your cards with.
- Design the app. The designer shows the real app while you work: the home screen, the scan screen, the playing screen, settings and help.
- Switch it on. It is a one-off $11.00 for your whole account, not a subscription and not a price per playlist.
- Scan a card. That is it.
You can design and preview everything before you pay, so you know exactly what you are getting.
One design, or one per playlist
Your default design applies to every playlist you bought, and to the ones you buy later. If one set needs to look different (the office party deck in company colours, the birthday deck in neon), you give that playlist its own design.
There is a third option I did not expect to matter as much as it does: the standard look. If you order a set as a present for someone else, you probably do not want your party theme to follow the cards into their living room. Set that playlist to the standard QRSong! look and it stays neutral.
Changing it later
Whenever you like. Change the colours the week before the party, swap the photo an hour before the guests arrive. The next card that is scanned shows the new version, and nobody has to update anything.
Let AI pick the colours
If you have a photo you love but no idea which colours go with it, upload it and press the AI button. It looks at the photo and picks a text colour, an accent, a button style and a font that fit. Then you fine-tune whatever you want.
When it is worth it, and when it is not
Honestly: for a game night with friends, the standard app is fine. App Designer earns its keep when the evening has a theme. A milestone birthday, a company party in brand colours, a pub quiz that wants to look like the pub, a Christmas party in red and gold. That is when a guest picks up a phone, sees the birthday photo behind the scan button, and smiles before the first song even plays.
